My Role in this Project

This is a personal project that I've worked on in my spare time to learn the Phaser framework. Squid Jump is a small minigame in Splatoon that I fully recreated from scratch. I tried to make it play and feel like the original as much as possible.

Summary of my work:

  • Built a simple level generator with a lot of control through different properties.
  • Made 25 levels that are all generated differently based on the levels in the original game.
  • A lot of comparing, tweaking and testing to make it play and feel like the original as much as possible.
  • Created Multiple power-ups and platforms with different interactions.

Game Description

Squid Jump is a game where a squid has to jump from platform to platform. Originally, it's a minigame in Splatoon. This is a recreation of that minigame playable in the browser. The player must reach the Zapfish at the top of the level to advance to the next level. There is rising purple ink that the player is not allowed to touch, forcing the player to be as fast as possible.
